Are you still working through the COVID pandemic?
Yes, we are still working as we are considered essential and have minimum contact with homeowners. Most of our communication occur over the email, telephone or outside the homeowner's residence face to face for estimate appointments or discussion of what needs to be done to the eavestroughs.

My flower beds are getting ruined, why is this happening?
Look and see if your drainpipe/downpipe has come apart at the bottom elbow. Sometimes this elbow will fall off. It is an easy fix with a couple screws. Another reason could be that the downpipe extension does not extend past your flowerbed. Perhaps it has fallen off, or you need an extension piece installed. This is another easy fix - put a pipe longer than your flowerbed onto the elbow at the bottom of the downpipe.

"My husband has to climb up the ladder every year and hit those nails back in the eavestrough"
We live in an area where there are hot and cold seasons. In the winter, your eavestroughs shrink. In the summer, your eavestrough expands. This will cause the nails to pop out.
Nowadays, we use hangers and screws - not nails. Popping out of hangers and screws doesn’t happen. You may be able to add hangers and screws to your eavestrough, or you may change your eavestrough.

When can I expect Just Eavestrough Guys to come and do my estimate?
Just Eavestrough Guys will contact you to schedule an appointment.
Once you put your quote request in online, we are alerted of it immediately. We don't immediately respond back if Dayna is not in office, or there is a large volume of requests coming in, but please know that we have received it and we will respond to it as soon as we are able. Quote requests that come in late on Friday night to Sunday night are usually not checked until Monday. If you sent your quote request in over the weekend, please know that there will be a couple days wait before a response from us.
-
I don't know if my quote got through?
Yes, once you submit your quote, it goes right to our mailbox and Dayna prints it out for Adam to have for his next estimating day.
-
There is nothing that tells me if they got my quote and I don't hear anything from anyone.
Due to high volume, it's hard for Dayna to keep answering every quote to let everyone know that their quote has been received.
But PLEASE know, that your quote HAS been received and you WILL see or hear from us after submitting your quote.
If you did not hear or see us after a week, please don't hesitate to contact us and follow up.

What does the estimating process look like?
So...this is what our estimating process looks like:
1) a quote request comes in
2) we try to answer it as soon as possible either through email or telephone
3) we will ask you during the telephone or email contact what day works for you to have Adam come give your house a look over for an estimate
4) Adam will go and check your house out - usually it is after his work day between Monday to Saturdays. The time can range anywhere between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
5) The estimate is recorded down, and passed over to Dayna
6) Dayna will type up an estimate paper and have it emailed to you within a few days after Adam estimated your house.

Why am I getting so much water in my yard?
I run into this question a lot. There’s a couple things that you need to look at: #1 - grading of the yard; when it rains, where is the water going? #2 - downpipe; do you have enough on your house and/or are all the downpipes running or draining into your yard? Then there is #3 - Your neighbors; is there a downpipe draining into your yard from their house?
I want to focus on #3 for a minute: There is a by-law in place that states you are not allowed to point your downpipe towards your neighbor’s house. These downpipes you have on your house must point either to the front or the back of your house. If you take a look around your house, and your neighbor has their downpipes pointing towards your house, you can ask them to change direction of their downpipe so it does not point toward your house anymore. They have 10 days to do this, after 10 days you have the ability to call City Hall and they will change it for you. Your neighbor will receive a bill of this service.
I do want to point out that this is happening in new construction builds where downpipes are being pointed towards neighboring yards, but they have drain ditches in between houses and in most cases, in the backyard as well so the water that drains into the yard gets redirected into a pond. In this case, there should be no water problems.
